Center for Hospice Care

FOCUS: To improve the quality of life both for persons facing the end of their lives and their families.

ACTIVITIES: Provide personal care, transfer patients, prepare meals, answer call lights, and other assistance at the inpatient facility or in private homes. Possible need for clerical help, Life Review booklets and photography

HOURS: Mon–Sun 24 hours (Patient care); Mon–Fri 8:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m. (Office opportunities)

REQUIREMENTS: Spanish – helpful but not required; 18 + ; Background Check; TB Test; Commit to One Semester; Specific Center for Hospice Care volunteer training IS REQUIRED for most placements. Training 5 – 15 hours depending on assignment requested.
