Assistant Program Director

Amber serves as the assistant program director of Justice Education. She works with students, colleagues, community partners to address issues of social concerns through education and action.

Amber has an enduring passion for the power of storytelling and pedagogy. As the producer of the L’Arche docu-series As I Am, Amber spent 3 years documenting the dignity of people with intellectual disabilities in 12 countries. Before joining L’Arche, she worked as a high school teacher in North Carolina, a researcher of community responses to youth gangs in El Salvador and Los Angeles, and a youth advocate, running the YMCA of Michiana’s Urban Youth Services Department. For over a decade, Amber has been committed to amplifying the insights, experiences, and solutions of people facing social exclusion.

Amber received her Bachelor’s from the University of Notre Dame in anthropology and peace studies, and her Master’s at University of California, Berkeley in global studies. She grew up in Los Angeles, California and currently lives in South Bend, Indiana.
